Home-schooling is basically home-based learning where the children are taught by the tutors through
online mechanisms.
The children do not have to go to any public school. Due to the mandatory school attendance requirement,
Home-schooling had lost its charm.
However, this system is now growing in popularity.
Many parents are uncomfortable sending their
children to public schools.
This is where the Home-schooling comes in.
The parents favor Home-schooling as they are
assured that their children are in a safe
the environment during the day and are looked
after by the family, which is not permitted by the
public-school during school hours.
Then there are parents settled in remote or rural areas, who prefer online home school for their children.
Some parents also state that they prefer Home-
schooling because they get a chance to be more
involved with their children for their education
and development.
These parents are satisfied by the fact that there
a child can be monitored at home, something that a school does not allow.
The parents generally feel that a public school may or may not be able to cater to the needs and interests of the child.
Home-schooling is quite popular among families that keep transferring from one city to another every
couple of years.
Plenty of children who excel in extra-curricular activities generally are home-schooled, so that they do not
lack behind in their education.
Home-schooling is quite popular as a form of supplemental education as well.
These programs are generally offered by schools that are into correspondence courses, where the entire
medium of education is through online classes or videos.
Some of these schools have their own curriculum and they do not need any approvals on the methodology.
The education imparted to the students is based on the interests of the students and the curriculum may
also, be altered on the basis of each child’s ability to learn.
