Home
If you have a young child at home and would like to home-school the child, the first question that will come to your mind is how to go about it.
There will be a big confusion in the head of the parent and the parent will definitely look for various options.
Pre-school studies are not complicated.
For a pre-schooler, reading together, spending time together, playing with peers, doing a lot of art together, helping with household chores, and trying new things is part of the learning.
The paragraphs below will provide some insight on how to coach the little ones.
Learning through home Play.
The most important way is to use the Learn through play method during these early childhood days.
Teaching as per the formal system is not needed for children up to the age of 6.
As per research, learning through play is paramount for a child’s development.
For children, each and every moment in a day is a learning experience for them.
Any toy that they play with, makes them discover new things.
Parents need to just keep giving them new tools to play with and provide them space.
The new tools may not be expensive and could be just a simple toy.
The parents need to provide play-centered activities to the child that allows the child to learn something, whether intentionally or incidentally.
If the child is happy while learning, they are able to understand things better and are keen to learn more.
Another important thing that a parent should keep in mind is that Sensory play and brain development go hand in hand.
Sensory play supports early childhood development such as language development, cognitive growth, fine and gross motor skills, problem-solving skills, and social interaction.
It aids the child’s development in physical skills that may require many different muscles to work together at once.
The Little Ones should not be forced for Academics
The child should not be forced to read and write at this age.
The parents have to create a base for learning.
The interest in learning for a child of this age has to be kept alive.
The parent cannot make the child do anything that will leave him bored.
The workbooks or plain sheets method should not be used for academic purposes but should be given to them for scribbling, something which the child will like and will keep him interested.
The child should also be made to connect with peers and other people of the family or community.
They can be taken out to visit some places of interest or playgrounds.
This outdoor learning will help in reducing stress, lifting moods, and boosting concentration in the little one.
However, the most important thing here is that the parents get to enjoy a lot of time with the little ones and are always there with them for anything that they need.
